Marriage Customs
Marriage was a big part of the Inca civilization. Men would, on most occasions, choose the women that would be his bride. Men usually married at the age of 20, and girls can marry at age 16. Inca citizens usually married within their ayllu, or clan. A tradition was to hold hands and switch their sandals. Once married, the couple would establish their home. People of lower class would usually live in a one room home made of adobe, and nobles or people of higher class would live in a house with several rooms made of better more sturdy material.
